1. Ride a camel

Most popular destinations in Egypt offer camel rides. You can likely book a ride through your hotel or at a tourist information point. The rides don’t tend to be too expensive, but you pay by the hour and so you should keep this in mind. When riding a camel, there are a few things you should know. Make sure that you wear long clothes, and you cover your legs when on a camel. Listen to your tour guide and do what he says. Trust your camel, if you start to work against your camel, he will work against you and might throw you off.

2. See the Great Sphinx of Giza

You must not miss the Great Sphinx of Giza when you are on your trip. The statue has a lion’s body and a human head. There are many rumors about the limestone statue, but nobody knows the truth of its history. If you ask around, you will hear many stories about the statue, but most are fabrications. You can find the beginning of one story written on the Sphinx itself. The story is about a prince who helped to uncover the Sphinx. Half of the story has gone, and so no one knows what happened to the prince.

3. Go diving in the Red Sea

If you are a fan of sports, you must visit the Red Sea. There you can dive off the coast and see some beautiful sea life in the reef. Many tourists dive into the Red Sea every year, and it is safe to do so as long as you have an instructor with you. Make sure that you follow any safety rules so that you don’t put yourself in danger. Some people take waterproof cameras with them so that they can get exclusive photographs.

4. Take a cruise on the Nile

If you are not sure where to stay in Egypt, why not take a tour? You can book a cruise on the Nile for a few nights. The cruise will give you a chance to see Egypt and enjoy some relaxation time. You can see many of the ancient attractions when you take a cruise, as it allows you to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time. Make sure you book your cruise far in advance to save money. Cruises on the Nile tend to be popular, and so many companies charge more depending on when you book.

5. Order a takeout meal

When you are in Egypt, you might well tire of Egyptian food. The cuisine in the country is worth trying, but it can be a little much for westerners. If you’re not a fan of lamb or rice, you will find it hard to get a dish that you enjoy in the country. Luckily, there are takeout companies all over the world. It is easy to order pizza in Egypt, and so you don’t need to worry. If you have had enough of Egyptian cuisine, you should take a break. Enjoy some comfort food and stay in for the night.

6. Go to the Egyptian Museum

The Egyptian Museum in Cairo is worth a look for any tourist. If you want to learn about the rich Egyptian history, you must make sure that you visit this attraction. If you happen to have children, they will also adore the museum. There are many things to see inside the museum, such as mummies and other ancient items. It is worth getting a tour guide to show you around the museum so that you understand the relevance of each item you see. The statue of Tutankhamun is one of the most-famous and memorable items within the museum.

7. Drink some Qasab (sugarcane juice)

The array of drinks available in Egypt is astonishing. While you are in the country, you should make sure that you try one of the many drinks that the place has to offer. You might want to try some strawberry or banana milk, both of which are popular drinks. I would suggest the Qasab, though if you want to try something truly original. The sugarcane drink is like nothing you will have ever tried before now.

8. Run down a dune

If you want to have a little fun in the desert, there is only one thing you can do. Sand dunes are common throughout Egypt and present a great challenge when you are walking up them. Once at the top, the fun begins. Have a race down the side of a dune. It may sound a little silly, but you’ll be glad you did.

9. Make some papyrus

In many places in Egypt, the people still make papyrus. You can attend papyrus workshops in a lot of the tourist destinations in the country. If you have ever wondered how the Egyptians made their paper, now you can learn. Ancient Egyptians used to make papyrus out of pith, and many people in the country still make the material to this day. A papyrus workshop is the perfect activity for young children.

10. See the pyramids

Of course, you can’t go to Egypt without seeing the pyramids. The pyramids are the main attraction in the country, and it is easy to see why. The impressive structures attract thousands upon thousands of tourists every year. Make sure you have your camera, as you’ll want to get loads of photos.
