Shutter: Taong Putik

Shutter is a photo section of Freedom Wall. Today’s features are photos of Taong Putik (Mud People). Locals of Barangay Bibiclat, Aliaga, Nueva Ecija call it a devotion to Saint John de Baptist or pag-sa-San Juan but tourist commercially name it: Taong Putik Festival. A devotee while listening to the celebrated mass. Taong Putik or Saint John de Baptist devotees. Photos are taken during the procession of the statue of the Patron around Barangay Bibiclat.

Hidden Garden’s Pink Lily

Hidden Garden is located at Brgy. Bulala, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. As the name says, the garden is hidden to some random folks and passers-by. You need to intentionally visit the Garden to witness its real beauty. Good thing that they don’t charge an entrance fee.  The photo below is a pink lily taken from the Hidden Garden. Make sure you include Hidden Garden in your future visit to heritage city of the north, Vigan. Paraiso ni Anton: The Mystery of the Healing Water and the White Lady

Paraiso ni Anton is one of the few stops of the Pagudpud Tour Cycle, a local tourism project of the municipality that aims to bring visitors to Pagudpud’s top-notch destinations. Tourist take photos while locals take a sip of the waters dripping from the hill. Kuya Amante, my tour cycle guide, slowly climbed the concrete stairway after approaching the site. He chanted a little prayer in front of the Virgin Mary statuette. He then stepped down and proceeded to the watery part of the hill. These photos were taken during our weekend trip to the towns of Burgos and Dasol in Pangasinan. These were the fruits of enduring a 5-hour loud bus ride, then an hour of sweaty jeepney traverse, and an hour of bumpy tricycle drive. Featured sites are Cabongaoan beach, Tambobong white beach, Snake or Culebra Island, Cabacungan cave, and Osmeña cave. The story or stories behind these photos will come out soon. Shutter: Bulog Island, Coron’s Spectacle

We kicked off our 2-day island hopping tour in Coron at Bulog Island, and island paradise in the southwest of Coron Island and east of Culion (see the map).
