I have a iphone 4, its a CDMA and the carrier is Verizon, i heard that globe telecom accepts CDMA, is it true? Cos, i dont know where is bayantel in cebu. And my friends are all globe subscriber. Please reply.

@iAn: yes, bayantel sold their cdma prepaid assets to De Venecia’s company MTI ( w/c previously catered to pagers & now broadband and wireless stuff). So, technically, Bayantel only sells postpaid landlines now. No more prepaid. However, for previous prepaid bayan subscribers like me, they still sell the bayan prepaid cards at all SM and 7-11 outlets. So, yes my prepaid bayan phone kit is still working splendidly and the signal is still crystal clear despite the onslaught of a certain habagat(?). I am satisfied with my prepaid landline already. At least it does its job better than my previous pldt landline plus. Lol.

That’s good to hear. I thought they sold their wireless assets. A thing we should know this time is that – will they configure “other” CDMA devices (other than the bundled)? Maybe I should ask a rep myself.

I am still a current user of Bayantel’s “Bayan phone Extra Prepaid” – a wireless landline using frequency CDMA 1900.
The signal is good and clear. It is light on the budget – I only load Php100 per month. I bring it with me anywhere within Metro Manila.

In reply to Trex Legaspi. I am still unfamiliar the CDMA coverage of Bayan Telecommunications but most probably, it services Metro Manila areas...Other than that, I doubt it will work.

would this mean that by now june 2012? CDMA is still a remote general possibility in the Philippines? i am soon gonna be trying a toshiba cdma phone (windows phone from softbank) for permanent use in the Philippines.. would it work?
