A Breakfast Treat at Chef Lau’s Pugon Roasters

Though Ayala Triangle is just a short walk away from our office, I rarely take a stroll in the park. A friend invited me one Thursday morning (after our shift) for breakfast at Ayala Triangle. Even though we were unsure if there’s an open restaurant that time of the day (7:30AM), we still headed on the area. Lucky us, Chef’s Lau’s Pugon Roasters were already serving breakfast to their guests. Chef Lau’s Pugon Roasters serves breakfast from 07:00AM to 10:30AM. During these hours, only breakfast meals are available. Chef Lau’s Pugon Roasters’ Breakfast Menu and Order Counter My friend asked ... Read more

Ted’s Oldtimer LaPaz Batchoy

We took the earliest Cebu Pacific flight to Iloilo and headed to SM City Iloilo immediately after our arrival. We decided to wait for Marx there, who was coming after an hour, and for us to look for some early morning refreshments. When we arrive at SM Iloilo, we found nothing, I mean, every shop, eatery, or carenderia were closed. Good thing I had my phone fully charged at this moment. I completely realized the importance of my data plan during those kind of situations. Search…search..search, and boom! I found Ted’s Oldtimer LaPaz Batchoy which was nearby. Ted’s OldTimer LaPaz ... Kawayanan Grill Station Coron: Perfect Place to Munch after the Hike

I never expected that our first activity in Coron would be a 724-step hike to the summit of Mt. Tapyas. We climbed the steep hill without reconditioning my joints so I did a hard time defying the gravity. We’ll, it wasn’t that resistive all the time since going down was a lot easier. The dark even spiced up the excitement wherein we ended up scaring ourselves. Some of my friends are seeing apparitions. Kawayanan Grill Grilled Pusit After the hike, we looked for a good place to chill, a place where we can satisfy our hunger. Marx took us to ... Read more

Scallop and Seafood Feast at Isla de gigantes

We stayed at Gigantes Hideaway Resort during our tour in Gigantes Islands. For 200 pesos a day, we were nested in a nipa hut accommodation (good for 3) with comfy bedding (but don’t expect too much) and a common CR/bathroom. We are talking about rural accommodation here, so expect mosquitoes to ruin your sleep (you know what to do to counter them). Brgy. Aluman’s shore is covered with scallop shells instead of sand or pebbles. Aside from the island’s main attractions such as the island and beach hopping, spelunking, lighthouse viewing, etc, the other thing that we enjoyed during the ... Read more

Spicy and “Shrimpy” Munch at Bubba Gump

I usually don’t spend a lot for a single meal – even for a special occasion or a friendly date (maybe I am just lucky for not meeting and dating someone who’s too choosy and socially inclined). But a toast for a job well done is a must grab opportunity. It was my first time in Bubba Gump but it’s not my first in a restaurant of its class and price range. As I said, I don’t spend a lot in a single meal (except for very few instances), it is my job that brought me to these places. The ... Read more
